Google Gets Direction

As Joel Blain noted, Google Maps is an impressive new offering.

My friend Douglas Bowman, who redesigned Blogger for Google, had this to say:

Way impressive. Clicking and dragging, rapid zooming, beautiful quality maps. Did you try some of the searches? Like:

pizza in 94114
hotels in san francisco, ca

or

directions from san francisco, ca to dana point, ca

Amazing. Hands down, best map service I've ever used. The only thing they seem to be missing so far is some type of scale indicator, so when you zoom in, you know how many mi/km you're looking at.
